Annahita Forghan

Grant Research Manager

Dr. Annahita Forghan holds a Doctorate in Pharmacy and brings a rich interdisciplinary background spanning healthcare, disability advocacy, adaptive athletics, and the arts. She currently volunteers with VoluntEars (www.voluntears.info), a UK-based organization supporting accessible travel experiences for the deaf community. Dr. Forghan is a regular contributor to Disability Issues and the Disability Policy Consortium of Massachusetts magazine and newsletter, where her writing centers on disability rights, inclusion, and public policy.

As a para athlete, she competes with the Boston Athletic Association in running events and participates in long-distance races as a handcyclist. She is also an accomplished flutist, performing with Boston’s Me2 Flute Choir, Salem State University’s orchestra, and at senior centers, where she has also taught American Sign Language. Dr. Forghan has taught ESL to international professionals and ASL to elementary school students, reflecting her deep commitment to communication access and education.

English is her first language, and she speaks conversational American Sign Language (ASL), Farsi, and Spanish. In her free time, she enjoys writing fiction, crocheting, knitting, and baking. She also loves camping, skiing, visiting pick-your-own farms, and picnicking with her partner Adam Cook, as well as spending time with their family and friends.
